ICEHOUSE

ARIA Hall Of Fame icon ICEHOUSE and its driving force, Iva Davies, have cemented their place in Australian music history with a career spanning over 30 years. Beginning as a young Sydney cover band called Flowers, who were filling venues weekly, the group’s debut album, Icehouse, topped the charts in 1980, becoming the highest selling debut album in Australia.

The band played to sell out audiences throughout Australia and extensively toured internationally, gaining Top 40 success in the U.S.A., U.K., Europe, Japan and New Zealand plus touring with major acts such as David Bowie, Simple Minds and The Cars.

The second album, Primitive Man, produced the song Great Southern Land which has become an anthem for Australians everywhere and European #1 smash Hey Little Girl. The album Man Of Colours, which produced the US airplay US #1 single Crazy and US top 10 smash hit Electric Blue, is the highest local selling album by an Australian group – ever.

With 11 albums and 8 special project releases, ICEHOUSE has a string of hits which audiences know and love, including: Can’t Help Myself, We Can Get Together, Walls, Hey Little Girl, Street Café, Don’t Believe Anymore, Mr. Big, Crazy, Electric Blue, My Obsession, Touch The Fire

Beyond ICEHOUSE, lead vocalist/songwriter Iva Davies, a classically trained musician and composer, has always extended himself in many facets of music both nationally and overseas.

The music of Iva Davies and ICEHOUSE transcends age groups. Their recent headlining performance at Sound Relief and a surprise guest appearance at Big Day Out saw the younger audience dancing and singing along to songs that were written before many of them were born, alongside the generation that grew up with ICEHOUSE and remain fans to this day.
