Stone Parade
“Heads are sure to turn. Stone Parade have delivered an album that features some epic songs. Stratosphere showcases an album that understands where their sound lies and more importantly where they want to take it.” – DRUM MEDIA, SYDNEY
“Home grown rockers Stone Parade strap in and go straight ahead with crunchy riffs and big beats on this independent release. The opening tracks Paranoia and Mr Spaceman are worth the price of admission.” – SUNDAY TELEGRAPH
This is how Australian press are perceiving Stone Parade’s latest offering ‘Stratosphere’. With this album, which was mixed by world reknown producer, Mark Needham (The Killers/My Chemical Romance) the band have embarked on a slighty different path with a more low fi, vibrant, raw appeal. Fresh from touring internationally this past March, where the band took part in Canadian Music Festival and touring New York with a show at the famed 'Arlene's Grocery', Sydney's Stone Parade are now ready to hit the road to promote their record in Australia.
'Stratosphere' follows the band's debut album 'Chase the Setting Sun', released in 2008 and spawned a radio hit with their first single “My Generation”, reaching Top 20 on the national ARIA charts and #1 on Australian Independent Radio (AIR) charts. Their track “Somebody Will Miss You” won the prestigious International Songwriting Competition for best Rock song and received several sync deals on Australia’s commercial TV stations.
First single 'Paranoia' from their second release 'Stratosphere' has been well received, receiving airplay across 70+ radio stations across Australia and an impressive synch deal with free-to-air sporing channel ONE HD/Channel 10. Tracks from the same album are being used for consistent promo on Fuel TV and there is talk of further synchs in the works.
Stone Parade have toured extensively over the past 5 years including supporting the likes of Maroon 5, Hoobastank, 3 Doors Down, Jimmy Barnes, Noiseworks, Canadian band The Trews and more recently The Art, Thousand Needles in Red and Floating Me. 2009 saw the band take part in the annual Rock the Schools tour, which provided an education in rock band roll to high school children along Australia’s eastern seaboard. During this six week tour, Stone Parade performed in front of more than 20,000 students. The band have gone on to perform at such events as the Nikon Super GP on the Gold Coast and a high profile black carpet event for Harley Davidson to launch the 2011 range of bikes.
Stone Parade deliver a high energy live show and will be an act not to be missed.
