Malia Stirling has been playing and creating acoustic music for the past 6 years. She has a classically influenced distinct style, with blues and folk undertones. Her unique angelic sounds resemble those of string and brass instruments, and her original music addresses issues beyond her years. In combination these invite the listener to have both emotional and sensory responses.
At the young age of 17, Malia is already making a name for herself across the Sunshine Coast – playing regular gigs in restaurants, hotels and at organised events. Further afield her featured vocalist performances in Creative Generations, State Schools at the Brisbane Convention Centre for the last 2 years has won her some hearts. Her song writing talents are also being recognised with a 5th place position for her song ‘Hidden’ in the 2016 Australian Songwriters Association Competition. She also gained herself a place in the Big Sky Girls Mentoring Program which only accepted the top up and coming young female artists across Queensland. With a recent performance on Balcony TV, a single released on Triple J Unearthed and an EP on its way, Malia is set to continue making a name for herself on the Sunshine Coast and beyond.
