Caloundra is on the Sunshine Coast, just over an hour’s drive north of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

The festival is located at Kings Beach Park, De Vene Avenue, Kings Beach.

Getting to the Festival

Travel to CMF the eco-friendly way this year by catching a train, bus or using your very own pedal-power!

CMF is encouraging all festival-goers to have a think about the way they travel to the festival this year – read on for some alternative suggestions to the car. Perhaps you can even mix and match a few options to create your perfect travel method!

1. Park & Ride Free Shuttle

Catch the FREE shuttle bus to the festival grounds. Buses run approximately every 15 minutes during the following times:

As there is no car parking available at Kings Beach, three Park & Ride locations are available. Parking at each of these locations is FREE!

  • Queen Street, Caloundra (Caloundra State Primary School)
  • Bower Street,  Caloundra (at Caloundra State High School)

Sunbus | Park & Ride Shuttle Bus | Pick Up & Drop Off, festival zones are all located on Moreton Parade near the service station (near roundabout at main festival gate)

ACCESSIBLE SHUTTLE BUS
The Queen Street & Bower Street Shuttle Buses are now an Accessible buses.  We suggest parking at the Caloundra High or Primary School and look for the CMF signage! We recommend using this service as Accessible Parking in Kings Beach is limited.

2. Free Golden Beach Festival Shuttle Bus

  • Golden Beach route – runs along Landsborough Parade, Golden Beach.
  • Pick up points are serviced  approx every 15 – 30mins.
  • There will be an ACCESSIBLE Bus serving this route at all times.
  • If capacity allows, buses will also accept Hail & Ride passengers along the Golden Beach shuttle route.

3. Caloundra RSL Courtesy Bus

The groovers at Caloundra RSL are kindly offering a FREE evening courtesy bus between the RSL and Caloundra Music Festival (in front of The Urban Vine restaurant) at the times stated below.

 4. Park & Walk!

The Our Lady of the Rosary P&F Association are excited to announce that they are providing paid car parking on their school oval during the Caloundra Music Festival. This is a fantastic solution for festival goers who want to park their vehicles only a short stroll from the festival without the worry of finding a space or receiving a hefty parking fine! whilst also providing a fantastic fundraising opportunity for our small school.

  5. SUN Buses

Bus is the main form of public transport to get around the Sunshine Coast.
Routes 600, 601, 602, 603, 605, 607, 615 and 636 operate to and from Caloundra.

CMF has put on extra buses each night of the festival at 10pm to assist in dispersing the crowds. This bus will complement the 600, 602 and 603 services.  Click here to view these services.

6. CMF Pick Up & Drop Off  Zone

The best and easiest place to drop off and pick up are the PARK & RIDE locations;

  • Caloundra Transit Centre (Cooma Tce)
  • Queen Street, Caloundra (Caloundra State Primary School)
  • Bower Street,  Caloundra (at Caloundra State High School)

7. Train

Landsborough is the closest station to Caloundra – it is just over 20k to the festival site from the station. You can then catch a connecting bus to the Caloundra Bus Interchange or perhaps you might like to take your bike on the train and cycle to the festival site – did you know that it is free to take your bike on the train??* (*conditions apply – click here for info from Translink)

8. Cycle

Cycling to the festival is fantastic alternative – the wind in your hair, the sunshine on your face, reducing the number of cars on the road, getting active, beautiful scenery and a chance to say g’day to fellow riders as you pass. Wow, there are just so many benefits!

This year we would like to say a HUGE thankyou to all our super cool bike riders by offering a FREE Bike Valet service! We’ll have more details on this exciting service for you soon.

Please cycle safely………….

  • Be visible. Wear bright colours, flashing lights are also great for visibility.
  • Carry water with you – the Sunshine Coast sun can be quite warm so make sure you drink plenty and ride in the cooler times of the day if possible.
  • Be sunsafe – wear sunscreen and cover up where possible.
  • Be road aware. Allow room for speeding traffic to pass safely.
  • Give way to pedestrians and other users if on the footpath.
  • Keep to the left of the road and overtake on the right.
  • Sound the bell when approaching the back of another cyclist or pedestrian before passing on the right
  • Limit the use of headphones and mobile phones as they reduce your awareness.
  • Consider using a bicycle mirror.
  • Carry tools for repairs, flat tyres etc
  • Know your route. A missed turn can be a hot mistake.

9. Walk

As the festival site is right in the heart of Kings Beach and Caloundra, there will be many of you living or staying within a short distance from the action… what a great opportunity to take a stroll to the festival site each day! Caloundra is a beautiful location with one of the most scenic coastal walks you’ll find. And if you are tired by the end of the day, you can also use the free shuttle bus to get you part of the way back to your bed!

10. Taxi

The Festival taxi rank is located at the Service Station near the roundabout at Burgess Street and DeVene Avenue. 11am to 11pm daily.

11. Carpool

If you are driving to the festival, how about filling up the seats in your car and travelling with a friend or two? Carpooling is a great way to save some petrol money and reduces the number of cars on the road, therefore reducing pollution and traffic congestion at the festival site. Plus you’ll only need to find one car park instead of two!

Car Parking

For those of you that are driving, please note there is no parking at the festival site.

Parking restrictions apply throughout Caloundra.  Parking on nature strips, areas of open space and parkland is not permitted and we have been advised fines of up to $375 may be issued per vehicle parked illegally.  Please also be considerate of residents by not parking across driveways.

There is designated festival parking at the locations listed below with a free shuttle bus running to and from the festival site throughout the weekend to allow you to ‘Park & Ride’.

Remember to be watch out for cyclists when you are on the road!
