With a flair for putting on live energetic shows with music that touches an audience both young and old, The Floating Bridges have made a reputation as being one of the most exciting, determined and focused bands to come out of south east Queensland. Forming in mid 2009 The Floating Bridges in their short journey so far, now find themselves on the verge of becoming a major driving force in the Australian music scene.
Blending an array of styles, The Floating Bridges take on influences from blues, roots, reggae, funk and rock, combining their passion for indigenous culture and social justice to create a fusion of sound driven by earthy beats and percussion. Currently one of the hardest touring bands out of the Sunshine Coast, The Floating Bridges are touring regional Queensland, Brisbane, Gold coast and Northern New South Wales. With tours lined up for Sydney and Melbourne later in 2011, the band is about to embark on some of the hardest touring schedules they have undergone so far, with shows planned for Europe in 2012.
With a list of shows and supports to their name already The Floating Bridges have enjoyed playing such venues as Ric’s Bar, The Globe, The Joint, Kings beach Tavern, Peregian originals, Nambour Originals, Woodford Folk Festival, Caloundra Music Festival and main stage New Years Eve Mooloolaba.
