Volunteer applications for 2012 open early August.

Volunteers will play a key role in the success of the Caloundra Music Festival - they will help to ensure it is a safe and enjoyable event for festival patrons and performers.  The following information outlines exactly what you can expect from volunteering at the festival in 2011:

What is involved?

Volunteers are required to work at least 12 hours before, during or after the festival. You will also be required to attend two volunteer meetings prior to the event (date and times to be confirmed).

How many volunteers are needed?

We need lots of volunteers to ensure the festival runs smoothly and patrons have the best experience possible, however please note that we do get an overwhelming number of applications and therefore we cannot guarantee everyone a volunteer position.

Preference will be given to previous volunteers who have proven their value at past festivals. We will also look highly upon those who are most flexible and are happy to work whenever, with whomever and doing whatever is required!

We also need lots of people to help Monday morning post festival to help clean up the site.  This is a task we are often short on so if you are available to help here let us know!

Here are some areas in which volunteers will be required:

• Collecting tickets and issuing wristbands
• Supervising the children’s area
• Checking wristbands at entry/exit points
• General helper/runner
• Cleaning of the grounds
• Administration
• Ticket/Program sales
• Festival set up and pack up
• Administering surveys
• Serving drinks at the bar
•  And much more!

Rewards

Your efforts will not go unnoticed. You will receive recognition through a Caloundra Music Festival volunteer t-shirt and invitation to the official after party.

You will be provided with a festival pass, which gives you access to all ticketed venues and performances. This allows you to carry out your volunteer responsibilities and enjoy the festival in your free time.

Volunteers that do additional shifts can earn one additional weekend ticket for friends/family for every 12 hours worked. 

How to stand out?

If you want to stand out above the rest be sure to note the following where it applies:

• If you are willing to be assigned to any task
• If you are willing to work any/all hours during the weekend
• If you are available pre/post festival
• If you don’t mind working late or starting early
• If you don’t care about seeing the big headline artists
• If you are interested in working additional shifts to the mandatory 12 hours.

Think about your interests and what you are good at – but leave your options open, as there are lots of positions to be filled over the festival period.

Volunteers Agreement

Our requirements are that you:

• Commit to and complete a minimum of 12 volunteer hours before, during or after the festival
• Over the age of 16 years at the festival
• Are reliable
• Arrive on time
• Carry out the duties allocated to you
• Work safely and adhere to the safety principles of the festival
• Work positively as part of a loyal team of volunteers
• Ask for help if it is needed
• Remain calm and cheerful under pressure
• Must not use, possess or be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs at any time while volunteering
• Must not verbally harass or abuse any person or use foul language 
• Immediately notify Volunteer Manager / Area Coordinator if you are unable to attend any shift
• Respect confidentiality
• Uphold the standards and values of the festival.

• You are provided with sufficient training to carry out your allocated duties safely
• Your work is appreciated
• Your feedback is welcomed and valued.
