Fieu (pronounced Fee-yu) meaning ‘heat’ or ‘fire’, is the alternate-pop outfit from the Sunshine Coast fronted by songstress Emily Brewis.
Described as “Simply cinematic, rich with perfectly-timed explosions of liberation and inspiration”, Fieu’s songs are personal and emotional, featuring beautiful embraces of solitude and self-discovery.
Since forming the band early 2014, Fieu have released their debut 6-track EP, gained national radio play and played shows across Australia including as support for bands such as Woodlock, Left, AYLA, Caitlin Park, and Hannah Rosa.
Recorded and produced at Sydney’s Studios 301, Fieu’s debut EP ‘Put It On The Line’ was released in September 2014 with the title track single featured on Triple J’s Home and Hosed as well as 4ZZZ, Radio Adelaide and other stations around the nation. Another track from the EP titled ‘Lighting Fires’ has been added to regular rotation on Triple J Unearthed digital radio station. ‘Put It On The Line’ has also recently been awarded an ‘Honorable Mention’ in this year’s International Songwriting Competition.
Continuing to explore their sound and artistic direction, Fieu have been recording in Western Australia, currently working on their second EP with new songs to be released later this year.
