Dubbed “an artist to watch” by Rolling Stone, Jess Harlen has been paving a way through the worldwide underground with two full length albums under her belt.
Her signature style has been described as ‘strong and delicate, soulful and streetwise, with traces of Lauryn Hill, MIA and Florence and the Machine’ (Canberra Times).
Back with a vengeance, Harlen has teamed up with Camilla ‘BassKilla’ Charlesworth and the pair have embarked on a psychedelic soul venture titled Cocoa Jackson Lane. Named after a laneway named after a boxing champion, the band will definitely be hitting hard at this year’s Caloundra Music Festival, during an annual east coast tour.
Harlen and Charlesworth, captains of the Cocoa Jackson Lane tropical gangster ship, will be cruising back to Boston soon where they have been based for the last 3years so be sure to catch them with the full band on home soil.
