Kimbal Imaz-Hirst, 20 year old Sunshine Coast singer songwriter has spent most of his life with a guitar in hand, he started at 8 years of age and hasn’t looked back since. Kimbal was born in Tenerife in the Canary Islands, coming to Australia as a child; his Dad is Spanish and his Mum an Oz. Returning to Spain after finishing school he gigged through Spain and formed a band in the Canary Islands playing in clubs and pubs for one and a half years. Since returning to Australia Kimbal has become a familiar sight and sound in the local bars and restaurants. His original music incorporates a cornucopia of Roots, Blues, Reggae and Folk with a hint of Latin rhythm to create a unique lay back sound. Kimbal’s one man show, combining techniques with his guitar, loop pedal, harmonica and vocals makes for great listening and leaves his audience wanting more. Kimbal seems to have a never-ending supply of original melodies that just flow from his guitar, he has the ability to draw you in with his lyrics, writing songs that seem as if they could have been written with just you in mind. “The Buderim boy is wise beyond his years and this is reflected in his earthy-surf acoustic sound” Sunshine Coast Daily.
Kimbal completed his first album ‘River if Life’ when he was 17 and now back in Australia is compiling songs for his next album.
