Amos Lee), HBO (Linda Ronstadt-Nelson Riddle), Rockpalast (Joan Armatrading, Eric Burdon) and touring with Eric Burdon, Linda Ronstadt, Joan Armatrading, Sonny & Cher and others in countless performances around the world. Red Young’s latest project is Red Young the Artist!

Being in the music business for his entire life, Red has put together his own groups that involve various skills and talents that he used to support many artists. His large band, Red Young & His Hot Horns has Red on vocals, piano & organ, with drums, bass and 5 horns doing older blues material – Ray Charles, Jimmy Witherspoon, Percy Mayfield – as well as Count Basie, Charles Mingus and his own original material. A Quintet (Red on piano) features songs from Cannonball Adderly, Horace Silver with a more earthy, bluesy and jazzy sound. An organ quartet features songs from the Soul Jazz era of the 1960s. And an organ trio features songs from Brother Jack McDuff, Charles Earland, Isaac Hayes and many others with Red on vocals and Hammond B3 organ. He also works an organ Duo, The Brannen & Red Show featuring longtime friend and incredible percussionist Brannen Temple which material runs the gamet of American music over
many decades. And if you like sophisticated piano music, he performs standards, jazz and vocal stylings in a piano bar format. And his various albums run the entire spectrum of his years doing this.

Red uses his many skills as performer, vocalist, MD, MC, arranger, producer and personality to bring all of his various groups to life. Always the consummate musician and visionary, there are no musical boundaries because whatever he can hear and play, he can transcribe to the musicians he employs and is always an enlightening and entertaining experience whenever you see a Red Young performance, no matter the size group or even individual performance.
