Drawing inspiration from Xavier Rudd, Bobby Alu, Medicine for the People and Bob Marley, Ryan aims to create roots reggae music that is meaningful, accessible and easy to dance to. He uses a stomp-box, slide guitar, harmonica, didgeridoo and various African instruments to reach an organic reggae sound. Ryan embeds his songs with messages to do with reconnecting to mother earth and his song ‘Revolution’ reached number 5 in the Unearthed roots charts and got played on Triple J Radio. This year, having just turned 19, Ryan has played at the Peregian Originals, Solbar and has supported French duo ‘Who Are You Lutra Lutra’ in Brisbane. ‘Stand Up’ is the name of this youngsters debut EP which was released in early June.
