Dubbed as one of the most promising acts to breakthrough the New Zealand music scene in recent years, Tahuna Breaks' unique combination of funk fuelled grooves, reggae and live energy has seen them become a favourite amongst party goers and those that wanna get freaky across NZ.
Their popularity has seen them having the honour of sharing the stage with such top Kiwi bands as Fat Freddy's Drop, Salmonella Dub, Tiki Live, Katchafire, Kora and The Black Seeds. They have even graced the small screen with live appearances on Top of the Pops, Coast and Juice TV Music Awards.
Having formed in January 2005, the Auckland-based group finally celebrated the release of their debut album 'Re-flections' in October 2007 receiving excellent reviews across the board.
From the ground up they've successfully built a reputation of getting the party started. With countless tours under their belt including several sell out shows around New Zealand and international commitments 'there is no denying the band's live musical energy' (Amplifier.co.nz). In Australia, the band are moving rapidly from strength to strength. After the release of their second album in late 2009, Tahuna Breaks continue their hard work ethic with a hectic 2010, encompassing major festival appearances, several tours including the return to Australian shores.
